French Man - fun and easy fancy dress idea!

We're talking the stereotyped 'French man' from days of old.
All you need are:

• Beret
• Stripey top
• A moustache, drawn on or stuck on (or style your own)
• A scarf or handkerchief tied around your neck
• French accent!
• Bonus party items: Bottle of wine, baguette, French flag, iPod with speakers to play the French National anthem at whim

Grandad / Grandpa / Senior Citizen Fancy Dress Costume

Some examples of achieving an authentic look:

• Single white bedsheet else tablecloth. Wrap and drape around you as per photo below. Alternatively if you have a white bath robe, you can leave one shoulder of the robe off (tuck it in behind), and that works rather well - see photo.
• A gold belt or cord around your waist, or brown if no gold.
• Brown sandals
• Optional head wreath

Shrek Fancy Dress Costume

This is great if you really want to get some laughs, and much cheaper than renting a Shrek costume.

You need:

• Green face paint for face and hands
• If you don't have a bald head, you could wear a green swimming cap, else spray your hair green
• Headband with Shrek ears stuck on (make some out of green cardboard). Alternatively you may be able to buy some cheaply at a fancy dress store online or a real one!
• Long sleeve top either white or even brown
• Brown pants or stockings, dark pyjama trousers with checks can also work
• Leather belt
• Short waist coat
