Rapidoh is the modern version of the age old classic - Pictionary. Using playdoh instead of a pencil, players have to use their sculpting skills to create words. Rapidoh is an instant family hit, whatever age. Sculpting requires you to exercise parts of the brain that you probably have never used before!! 3D spatial ability really comes into play. Object of the game in a nutshell The object of Rapidoh is to be the last team remaining with playdoh. Each team is given a lump of playdoh and has to make a word. The team that guesses correctly first is safe. The team/s that didn't guess correctly have a chunk taken out of their playdoh. This repeats until the team with no playdoh left is out of the game. Up to three teams can play at one time. Teams should be made up of at least two people, but we feel for maximum enjoyability, at least three people is best. Rapidoh Game play Teams pick a playdoh colour, take their lump of doh, and put it on their placemat. A sculptor is chosen from each team and then look at the first game card on the pile. The game card will have a) a word that they must sculpt, or b) a list of words that they can chose from, or c) they will have a word that they must sculpt corresponding with their team colour. Goodbye cheating! The great improvement to the game as opposed to Pictionary, is that its rules makes it difficult for people to cheat. You may recall playing Pictionary in All Play mode, with two teams playing it's easy for the other team to hear your guesses and take advantage of your hard work to beat you to guessing the word. In Rapidoh if you listen to the other team's guesses and try and use it to your advantage, you can actually lose yourself the game. So the makers have overcome one of the major obstacles that curtailed many a party gamer's joy when playing Pictionary. Why Rapidoh is fun
What's in the Rapidoh box? 3 x playdoh tubs (fluoro red, blue and orange) What we'd like to see in future editions Larger tubs of playdoh so we can play longer games! It takes only four plugs before your supply of doh runs out - which makes it a very short game for teams who have limited sculpting ability. Handy Rapidoh Hints a) Look after your playdoh It's a good idea to look after your playdoh. If you don't play the game for a while - eg. 4 months - your play doh can get dry and hard. You can take steps to looking after your doh by making sure that the lids are sealed on tightly after each game. You may even want to wrap them in cling film to seal in moisture before storing them in the tubs. If the doh is hard when you open your tubs, just add some water and knead. If all else fails, BUY MORE PLAYDOH! b) Determine how much movement is allowed It's a good idea before you start the game to decide how much movement of the actual doh you will allow. For example, if someone makes a plane, are they allowed to fly it about in the air? Be careful, as some sneaky players don't even bother shaping things properly, but rely on using 'playdoh-charades' to get their team to guess the word. We recommend no movement. c) Choosing the word from the card If you have space, it's ideal for the sculptors to physically go to another room, or part of the room where team members can't see as they choose their word. If this isn't possible, when deciding which word to sculpt, team sculptors should always point to the word they will create, even if the colour of the word has basically already decided for them. If sculptors always point to the card regardless, players can't guess if the word is going to be unique.
